THE P.C. REVOLUTION IS THE POST CODE REVOLUTION

I USED TO KNOW A SMART OLD Hipster from Hove, Sussex, marvelous roue, a superb graphic artist and cultural mentor who would say "The revolution has happened but it's a long mopping-up operation".

The post code revolution is like that - it's been here all along and is a matter of waking up with a realisation of where one is geographically and demographically. Our internet age bubble enables us to be part of a global community no matter how far flung our location but in the crowded cities it can cast an iridescent hemisphere around us deflecting attention from our immediate environment.
The privilage of anonymity in city life is essential to civilized life but in the face of economic meltdown and the corporationalisation of government (or vica versa) here is an opportunity to seize our lives, as individuals and immediate communities within physical space. To accept responsibility for urban ecology in the fullest sense, to better exploit and integrate with the urban environment, recognise resources at hand, enhance our lives, shop local!!

EVERYBODY HAS A POSTCODE NOW

THE POSTCODE REVOLUTION OR P.C.REVOLUTION IS ABOUT A NEW LEVEL OF DEMOCRACY FOR THE INTERNET AGE. The idea arose when I was living in Whitechapel E1 and being attacked by immigrant kids every time i left my flat. I realised that the bangladeshi community and somali s and god knows who else were taking care of each other..but we natives were being left isolated in a harsh uncaring environment, The church and the pub no longer held sway in our cities so i thought "How can we conceive of a nurturing community?" and the postcode occurred to me. I went down to the post-office and asked for a map of E1 and was told I would have to pay £55 to a company called Multimap! I was appalled! Our information was being sold off to the highest bidder so that we could be targeted by corporations. Now, guess what? Bill Gates owns the postcode lists! Shocking! I resoklved to attempt to make our cities safer.... read on... Community Access T.V. CATV for E1 ! we all have cameras on our mobile phones, we can make our own local T.V. stations, 24/7.

Sunday walk around the boundary of E1.

The first circum-perambulation of E1 took place on Sunday 6th May and was a roaring success. Beginning at the mid-river boundary on Tower Bridge I set out accompanied by Luke Marcelle northwards (around the Royal Mint) up the Minories to Middlesex street and then onwards - roughly along the city wall - then up Shoreditch high street with a stop at The Dragon Bar for an excellent Sunday Lunch.
We were then joined by conceptualist and painter Brendan Quick for the stint along the Cheshire street railway line until we encountered the impassable barrier of st Mary's Hospital so walked southwards along Bancroft road past the archive and museum of local history (now unfortunately closed).
Brendan left us and turned back at the canal on Mile end road while luke and I followed the towpath then along White Horse Lane to Ratcliffe steps at Limehouse where we trended westwards through Wapping returning to Tower Bridge. Altogether with stoppages the walk took four hours but without these breaks should have taken roughly two hours.
Each part of the walk was very different to the others and was a fascinating and instructive experience of the city's diverse elements.
The next walk will be in the opposite direction tomorrow (Sunday 13th May) at the same time - 12.00 noon from the middle of Tower Bridge. All are welcome to join in.

FRACTALS AND ENGLISH LIFE

Every village had it's squire,
every village had its mill
every village had its poacher,
every village had its blacksmith,
every village had its idiot,
every village had its parson,
every village had its pub,
by 1960 every village had its jukebox,
(THE TEK-LEK-MEK TOTEMIC TEENAGE TEMPLE OF TOON)
every village embraced black music
by 1990 every village had its smack dealer

The Post-Code Revolution /Solar energy

We have to imagine that we are not powerless. We have to take responsibility for our selves, our world. The world faces many problems but the most urgent as I understand it - is ecological.

We need to change our energy supply and until there is a wholesale shift to tidal generated power, solar panels must represent our first option.

Can E1 go solar? Let's find out how much of our requirement could be generated if every rooftop in E1 had solar panelling. What if solar panels were designed so that the roof WAS a solar panel? What if south-facing walls WERE solar panels?

Is there a manufacturer in Britain working on this issue? We are heading for a better future, a fairer world. We need inspired inventiveness.

Can E1 rise to the challenge and become the first post-code to generate all its energy needs?  What alternative energy sources could we harness?

Feel The Breeze

"Feel the Breeze … " is a fashion label inspired by black history and the struggle for civil rights in America, South Africa and around the world throughout the 20th century and by the struggle for freedom by oppressed individuals throughout human history.
"Feel the Breeze …" through the mesh of a cotton classic diamond pattern string vest.
"Feel the Breeze" suggests "Blowing in the wind" The song by Bob Dylan that was an anthem of change around the world a battle hymn of young educated but angry youth who were growing up in a world where bogus forces stood naked in the sudden gust of new technology and youthful vigour.
"Feel the Breeze" and I hear Harold Macmillan"s "winds of change" speech to South Africans, telling the world to be ready for the irresistible tides of history. Growing up in England at that time the words seemed laden with foreboding by a British Tory prime-minister. To that class the words
Through television's glamour they carry a jfk aura - Look-out chaps! There's a new broom accoming" even the confidence of a British Lion of this order could not deny the reality of world-wide democratic awakening and its implications for his class - buccaneers and syndicated spread of guilt called stocks. If you own a slice of one percent of a gold mine in the Congo do you personally check that workers are on Bupa?

My shop COD ran for  years and for the 3rd year I ran a second shop called Hi Tak in Carnaby st.

My source was mainly the street markets and my outlets were firstly Kensington High st and then Carnaby street. Simple - Buy low - Sell high.
East to West, it worked.

in 19801 I identified black (and other) ski pants as a retro revival
in 1982 I developed hipster jeans with a wide belt

Both products were taken up throughout the market and became the dominant pattern over several years - I did not exploit the advantage in either case beyond small scale engagement.

Feel the Breeze is a fashion label inspired by the civil rights struggle of non-white people in America. The label suggests the feel of wind on your skin passing through the diamond mesh of your string vest.
Feel the Breeze celebrates the "winds of change" that blow through human history and the ability of human culture to adapt creatively.
"Feel the Breeze" is a joyful response to the 1960s youth anthem Bob Dylan song "Blowing in the wind"
"Feel the Breeze" is akin to rock and roll except it is not white men singing and playing black man's music.
"Feel the Breeze" is a totally new concept in fashion, culture and economics.
"Feel the Breeze" is ART
"Feel the Breeze" - intelligent fashion, it responds to matters of racial culture, politics and environmental issues.
"Feel the Breeze" is for everyone, it is unisex.
"Feel the Breeze" shows your tatts. (and if you wear no bra - your tits.
"Feel the Breeze" is sexy, you can grab hold, pull and say "Come 'ere, Babe"
 "Feel the Breeze" is Punk.
"Feel the Breeze"  is yardy.
"Feel the Breeze" is Amy.
"Feel the Breeze"  gives you patterned sun tan.
"Feel the Breeze"  is on the street.
"Feel the Breeze" addresses issues between the very rich and the very poor.
"Feel the Breeze" shows off pert nipples.
"Feel the Breeze" will be the street fashion sensation of 2012
"Feel the Breeze" addresses the T-shirt market and is set to yield fantastic profits once the issue of distribution is settled.
"Feel the Breeze" is a ten year project. Year 1 - the street, Hells,Angels, High fashion.
I saw on TV a member of the first Everest expedition who wore string long-johns for warmth. He claimed that he owes them his life and they are now in a museum in Wales. Incredibly he has visited the museum to put them on to recapture the feeling so attached was he to wearing them.
"Feel the Breeze" string wife beaters currently cost me £1.50 and sell on the street at £10.00 but shops pay £10.50 wholesale and retail for £25.00. The aim is to sell at £25.00 per item regardless of quantity, to establish a supply chain to carefully selected outlets world-wide and a handful of fashion magazines, models and photographers.
"Feel the Breeze" string wife beaters are shocking.
"Feel the Breeze" string wife beaters will achieve a significant percentage of fashion and merchandising T-shirt business.
"Feel the Breeze" string wife beaters trap a layer of air around your body, they are more comfortable in hot weather and warmer when its cold.
"Feel the Breeze" celebrity endorsement. Rock stars, actors, models.
"Feel the Breeze" develops from bleached motif on basic cotton generic stock to hi-end hip-hop/haute couture range and brand. Street fashions, branded basics lines up to exclusive high end cowture retaining all integrities and relevance.
"Feel the Breeze" - product development, string bags, hats, hoods, mesh featured jeans and jackets.
"Feel the Breeze" will identify manufacturers and plot pathways through yarn development garment pattern design construction and potential.
"Feel the Breeze" - media policy - brand association - only with selected labels, Adidas, Nike?models and stylists, featured only in selected magazines.
"Feel the Breeze" will achieve unprecedented first year impact and confidently utilise its expansion in product development and market establishment.
"Feel the Breeze" launch need be meticulously timed and its impact fully exploited.
"Feel the Breeze" will launch a seperate company to develop markets for branded associate products

Business plan/company development strategy Mission statement. Design, manufacturing, distribution, Brand husbandry.
The basic plan will be to dominate world string vest supply across the poorest populations.

I need an accountant/company secretary and C.E.O. cum brand representative. Significant investors introduced from the start.
The key in the first year is engagement with manufactures and ability to achieve synergy.
Feel the breeze is inspired by high ideals in recent human culture and will share and retain this heritage applying its lessons at the core of growth.

Welcome to the p. c. Revolution

The point of postcodes is that they are compact areas of cities, set up so that postal deliveries are possible. It's a human scale and everywhere within any postcode should be an easy walking distance. If we are to achieve the goal of self government in our generation then it makes sense to utilise the postcode along with I.t. Community access t.v. could give a voice to everyone. If we want to make the effort to make our cities more bearable to live in and create real communities then the postcode is a logical start. There are the larger goals- self government, the land for all the people, self sufficiency in energy and other resources. Reduction of our carbon footprint to minus status. Less cars and more public space. Uncovering of the conduited rivers of London.
Do you sincerely love your postcode? Do you want to? Then act today, Seize Your PostCode!

the origins of the p.c.revolution

in 1920 or something ben bayley's grand dad (or so he says) invented the postcode as a way of dividing up our cities so that the post-office could distribute letters to peoples houses.

The Post-Code it was a simple means of rendering our mega-cities into some kind of human dimension, into areas that a postman could get around on his bike, in one day.

It was part of the Royal Mail, the post-office, when you think about it was a pillar of the system of government or self-government. The organisation of our cities into an equable democratic system of division and notation.

Today in the absence of much social cohesion, with racial, ethnic, social and economic divisions that can rapidly change I believe the post-code has a revolutionary potential.

In the absence of effective parishes, boroughs, meaningful political leadership or representation THE TIME HAS COME FELLOW CITIZENS for the P.C.REVOLUTION.
